Q: Are your nut milk bags (hemp, cotton) machine washable?
A: Our nut milk bags are very durable, so technically, you can wash them in a washing machine, but we do not recommend to use a clothes washing machine or dryer, for these few reasons:
1) since washing machines are also used for clothes, your bag(s) can get contaminated with synthetic fiber/lint from clothes which can end up in your food and,
2) washing machines usually are not clean enough for food items.
We recommend sanitizing by boiling in water or soaking in vinegar, if used for sprouting. If used for making nut milks, use unscented organic soap or sanitize only if needed. Instead of using a washing machine, maybe you can try a dishwasher. Currently, I do not have a dishwasher, so I can not comment on using this method, but our few customers said it works, but keep in mind that it will wash/rinse only one side of the bag.
